Since its foundation in 2002, Rotterdam based developer VSTEP has established itself as a leading European developer of Serious Games and has succesfully expanded its activities into the commercial games market with the hit Ship Simulator Series (Ship Sim 2006 grabbing more than 280.000 units sold to date, and Ship Sim 2008 following a similar sales profile).
Our company is growing rapidly, with the experienced management and staff all sharing the same vision of technical knowhow, linked to quality and a profound love of games.
As a result of our rapid expansion VSTEP is looking for new people, to supplement the development teams for its new commercial lineup.
Some of our upcoming game projects are a next gen fire fighting Action Adventure for PC and consoles, originating from our vast experience with virtual disaster management and fire fighting training. Another upcoming title is the next incarnation in our Ship Simulator hit series on PC.
Position: Lead Game Programmer
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and maintain core game play systems
Work with designers, artists, and animators to develop and maximize game features.
Help the programming team address problems and find solutions to programming challenges.
Ensure that core game play is functioning in a stable and presentable state throughout development.
Requirements:
Previous experience on shipped titles
Experience with Unreal3 engine is preferable
Advanced knowledge of C++ and debugging
Strong optimization skills
Fluent in 3D math
Strong communication skills
B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent experience
