mmm, I think Romero will always be the Eternal Failure within the Game Design community. Wasn't his last endeavor acquiring a team of super elite designers? I know there was some special proactive word he used to describe what he wanted.

Romero rules, Wilson is a retarded and he's the one that lacked of professionality here hitting romero private life.

Yea, cause it was real professional of Romero to call him out in the first place.
They both look like a bunch of cunts to me at this point. Although Romero started it and then through up a white flag, so he looks to be the bigger loser here.
I've got an old nextgen with an interview with Romero in it about Daikatana..it's a funny read. He goes on about how the q2 enginge is the be all end all and how Daikatana is the ultimate gaming exp. Fun shit
Seems like both of them are acting like idiots. I wouldn't expect any apologies or such from either. Wilson took it too far IMO tho, but hey, you throw rocks in glass houses like Romero just did, and that is what happens.

you've got to be someone to become a has-been. Romero may be a has-been now, but he nearly single-handedly designed all of Knee Deep in the Dead, a level set that still plays as it did back in the day.
so you could probably reserve the Eternal Failure epithet for someone who talks big but never did anything to back it up. i don't believe in trading on nostalgia, but it's a damn sight more credit than a lot of big-talk types in the industry deserve.
edit: this is not to say that Romero's not seriously douching it up in that post. man.
I like the Romero, he is an interesting character - and he helped making some very influential Games.
Sure Daikatana wasn't all that it was hyped up to be, but thats true for many Games.
And Ion Storm produced some really cool stuff like Deus Ex and Anachronox ( not by Romero's Team, but still ).

Supercore... That you don't know this just shows that you are not supercore enough!.
Go Wilson, suck it down
@Neo_God, i don't think that who invented the FPS genre (that today is the most famous and played one on both PC and consoles) is a failure

Wilson is the baby. He went boohoo and shut down GodGames because he wasn't happy with it. Even the name GodGames screams ego in him alone

Oh, so you worked there and know Wilson personally?

You could say that to everyone else here sensationalizing the two men's drama.
Funny read. Its like reading a thread here on Polycount, except without cats and gauss to lock the thread afterwards.
