GTA San Andreas time bug fix?

Got San Andreas for christmas and I've been having problems with time in the game the longer my computer is on. If I play after turning my comp on, everything's fine. But if I play for a while or play after my comp has been on for a while, everything speeds up. Just played a bit after having my comp on all day, in game I watched the sun set and rise in about 1 min. Ran across the entire map in about 3 min, driving a car with the game going this fast is nearly impossible.

I tried to see if there was some known fix for this, couldn't find any info. Anyone else get this problem, and have an idea as to what's wrong?

I had this happen in Crysis as well as other games but I have no idea how to fix that either...

Really? I haven't noticed it in any other game.

Start it, press ctrl-alt-del, go under processes, find the San Andreas exe, right click on it, select Set Affinity.. and uncheck one core (or three if you have quad core i guess).

I've had that too with San Andreas, it's insanely funny though once you're through with the normal gameplay!

There should be a frame limit option. That will slow it down to 30fps I believe.

There's also a cheat code for slow gameplay. Just type it while playing:
LIYOAAY

Yea, it's kinda wacky playing it in super-fast-forward like that. Died so many times.
