QA testing job....

Hey guys i got an interview for a game testing job tomorrow. I've done focus testing for several companies, but fulltime QA is way different.......recording bugs, etc.

I was wondering if you guys had any special tips that i could use during the interview???

Keep your pants on and don't touch yourself!! Great way to ruin an interview.. Neways just be yourself, act normal and don't freak out about trying to have the right answers to their questions. gl

of course, explaining to them that the couple of escorts you brought along to celebrate you getting hired is a great way to bribe them as well. just don't go cheap and get the fugly ones .

Just be respectful and socialable. Ask them questions about the job. Smile. Dont fidget. Look them in the eye when you shake their hands.

Do at least 3 handstands at random intervals during the interview to show them you have proper dexterity for the job.

Don't mention anything about the games they've made, unless they're happy to hear someone is actually playing them. Fanatics are creepy.

If they've made, or currently making, an MMO...don't mention WoW. Mentioning an older, lesser known, more advanced game may help.

Just relax. Act like you're someone a group of people can get along with. (optional)

Make great coffee.

Be sure to also mention how you can crash a game.

I'd be sure to have researched some of the more technical aspects of software testing. I doubt most places do so, but back when I was testing the company I was with quizzed applicants on testing procedures and such.

Other than that, go in and be yourself, show you are competent and hardworking and would work well with a team and you're good to go.

I think this job is going ot be good for me because im trying to move up into an art position one day. Im a recent graduate and i think this is a perfect opportunity to make some contacts.

any one know a ballpark figure on how much testers get paid.....:) I know this is a very subjective, but anyone here testers....:)???

When I was doing it I was at $14 an hour, but I know that a lot of other companies around here paid lower than that.

Don't expect to be making the big bucks doing it. :P

3 or fewer years of experience it should go about 26k. so if you've had a couple of games under your belt don't take anything under this amount.

I saw an internet ad that says you can make between $75k and $120k per year!!! True story!!!

That is possible if you had at least couple of years, shipped titles and as a lead. It can get pretty comfortable that way.

well i left my interview....pretty nerve racking.....

i didn't realize the interview would be so difficult.

like they asked me:

What would i do if they gave me a shoe to test?

well they said i should hear from them this afternoon....

Usually when faced with a question like such it simply means how well you're able to adapt to "different" situations...they won;t necessarily grill you just on that.

And yeah, I would consider lodging the shoe
