yeah, everyone knows van gogh chopped his entire ear off when he was a baby and so spent his entire adult life with only one. It's looking good, *please say you're not going to do anything as chronic as lose an ear ...
Be honest with me Dan, are you angry because you didn't know the only things that are worth knowing about Van Gogh?He chopped off his ear and painted sunflowers, and these facts need to be stated, repeatedly.
That being said, I'd like to see you try John Warner's suggestion. I don't know if it'll work, and I quite like the current subdued treatmeant, but the idea sounds good. The hair in general looks a bit soft and furry, as well as having very little variation in colour or coarseness, and his moustache is really frighteningly solid and large. Rather reminds me of Davy jones' (from Pirates o/t Carribean) upperlip-tentacle
Hi sneakyP. Looking really good. Two things stand out to me. His eyes are little too bright and there's something about his temples that just look messy or bumpy. I would also suggest messing a bit more with his hair and beard to break up the symmetry cause he seems unnaturally symmetrical when looking at these parts.
Yeah I would paint in some more shadows in the cochlear area as well some shadows around the eyeballs...they're all lacking a little dimensions as of now...

I second that; chop one off.
I like the said art direction of expressionism.

Great job otherwise, instantly recognizable
His face is less full and he has a pointy nose + crazy eyes.
I couldnt really find any reference on how a ear with a cut off lope would look like so I improvised. What do you think?
Eyes are still too white and lack a dropshadow, and the beard looks a bit too photo-airbrushed to me.
He looks like a freak, but that's good!
