Nice stuff so far man, i think you just really need to push the values on your highlights and shadows. Get some really dark stuff in there (Not black) and some good highlights to make things pop a bit more

about an hour a piece, the second took about 2 hours... just struggled with it... not very good at environments..

What do you mean, not colors at all? not primary colors?
