yeah, max has done it again. this time, its hidden a few lines
that i created. they're hidden so well that i am unable to find it in any of the listings and not even when i try and merge the scene into a new file. the names of the objects are line04, and line05.
however, when i try and import the lines from a previously saved scene, it tells me that "line04 and line05 are already names of existing objects in the scene".
its a minor issue since i always have a backup copy of a scene in case max decides to be a whore-assed bitch like this, but its annoying as hell.
this has happened to me at least 4 times previously.
fucked up file+ non-fucked up file.

trying to import the lines, i get this:
and yes, i tried unhiding, (clicked unhide 3 times) and checked for invisible layers.
and heres what the 3 objects looks like in T-55X, the scene
i imported from (you can see the name of it in Xref objects.)
i can still convert it to editable mesh, then import the lines, but fuck that, i wan't to broadcast this bug, to show how screwed up 3ds max is.
select $Line04
If the object exists in the scene it will be selected, even if it is hidden.
Doing that will allow you to delete it, or even rename it.
edit - the one without the X is the bad file. Hmm.
edit: I figured it out. Under the display tab you had set "shapes" to hidden.
Try unfreezing, and then unhiding as well, maybe it might work?

User error
Max didn't hide a few lines, you did!
oh well, thanks for sorting it out.
seems like hide shapes is assigned to shift+s.
i'd say its more of a user interface error.
