I recently acquired a Wavebird controller for my Wii and was wondering about some game recommendations since I never owned a GC.
So far I plan on checking out:
Super Mario Sunshine
Viewtiful Joe
Eternal Darkness (if I can find it)
Any other GC exclusives that I missed out on and are worth picking up?

And the Metroid Primes. Very good games, both of 'm.
SuperSmash Brothers
Zelda WindWaker
Paper Mario 1&2
Any of the R.E. games
Chibi Robo
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
F-Zero GX
Killer 7
P.N.0.3
You should probably read some reviews of most of these as they are either love or hate games.
soul calibre2
and best of all Super monkey ball 1&2
Frankly I only have my gamecube to play the entire RE series.
- BoBo
Soul Calibur 2
Beyond Good and Evil (if you don't have it for another system)
Resident Evil 1 (Remake)
Resident Evil 4
Pikmin 1 and 2
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess (If you don't want the wii version)
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
and CUBIVORE - best game ever made. ever.
Smash Bros Melee

and Rogue Squadron 3, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (corny and gauntlety fun), Timesplitters 2, Lego Star Wars, Kirby's Air Ride, Amazing Island (lol aggravating) and some others I forgot
Then RE series, each one of the remakes or 4 and you get a piece of art. Viewtiful Joe is also a good choose. Then the usual Nintendo ones, Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Smash Brothers....
Resident evil zero, resident evil remake and resident evil 4. Absolute must-haves.
You also need the wind waker, as its one of the most beautiful games i've ever seen. (and a testiment to the fact that high-rez textures and bump maps does not neccessarily a pretty game make. ) Not to mention the fact that its fun.
Its rare to find though I'll bring it to work if you want to try it.
should also get Viewtiful Joe. its awesome x1000. If you can get your hands on Ikaruga... its amazing.
Killer 7 is ok too if you dont mind psychotic rail-shooters. it isnt fantastic, but its got a completely cracked-out style.
wow you all missed the greatest shooter on gamecube: Ikaruga
Its rare to find though

Good call, Ikaruga has to be my favourite game of it's genre. It uses a few really simple overall game play concepts and the artwork is beautiful. I've also been hearing it will be coming out on Xbox live this year.
wtf is wrong with some of you not mentioning it yet.
oh, and I saw a new copy of eternal darkness new at wal mart.
...50$.. screw that . kinda wish I bought it used when i saw it for 17$, great condition. oh well.
Beyond Good and Evil (if you don't have it for another system)

Seconded
If you're into imports the various Naruto Fighters are alot of fun too (never played the US versions, but they only got the first two games).
