Trouble in Maya with LAG

I have some trouble with Maya 8.5 when i enable the shaded view mode and select objects i modelled i get terrible lag before i can continue modelling also 3D Painting has the same trouble, special worst when useing painteffects. My drivers are up to date, and discreet sucks with there update your driver or reinstall the applet solutions. Someone maybe know a solution ? I have an E6600 Dual Core btw so my PC isnt the problem either.

Lag like, when you try to rotate or pan the viewport view stays frozen for a few moments then catches up?

Stays frozen for about 3-6 seconds very annoying.
