Just started to watch this show after hearing about how good it was, and...
..its fantastic! I really do like the characters in the show!
However - and I may be missing something here - sometimes the acting is so, SO bad. Doakes, for example, is an over-actor. But i reckon he's told to do so. He's always, Fuck this, Fuck that, etc. I've been around cops all my life (most of my family worked for the police in some way or another) and while they do swear more often than most, it was never that over-the-top.
Also, Rita. I try to like her but she's always so.. airy. Kind of like she's constantly talking while watching a feather fall to the ground.
Other than that, I love the show. I'm only 9 episodes in to the first season ("Seeing Red" was the last).
I can't wait for season 3. I love this show. I read the book it's based on after watching all of season 1 & 2 and I actually prefer the show's writing. I like all the extra stuff they added in and changes they made to make the story more complex and interesting.
Just seen a few season 1 episodes. Well, it is cool, but I was expecting some more gore, it all goes a bit too happy family. But yeah, his sister is hot.
I think season 2 gets a bit less engaging towards episode 5, and still it makes for good television. Things seem to be picking up again, as well, so I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Vito: if there is one thing it's just really not about, it's gore. I think it's all portrayed quite well. It ticks all the right boxes for me, anyway.
Yeah MightyPea, I understand what it is about. I don't mean gore on the tasteless way we see everyday on crappy tv/games, I'd like to see some beautiful made gore scenes, making killing an art..
I loved season 1 and season 2. I found #1 held up a little better from a critical perspective -- the characters in season 2 are more developed (obviously since they've had more time) but turn a bit caricaturish where they seemed more genuine in the first season.
Bit of a nit pick -- I actually enjoyed both seasons equally
Adam: I do agree that doakes overacts, but not so much in his swearing as his ridiculous pouty face. This must be what watching gay porn is like.
Pouting does not equal being 'serious' and angry.. Someone should tell him that.

I should have Season 1 finished by Friday.
