Yeah, I just saw the Apple commercial about that last night. It was pretty funny (PC calls PCWorld acting as Mac to deny the claim). My wife was confused how Vista is faster on a Mac, since she didn't know that was possible.

That's awesome. I saw the commercial last night as well. It's like watching Apple repeatedly kicking Microsoft in the groin.

Microsoft doesn't manufacture PCs.

That's true, but it's pretty obvious (at least to me) that 'PC' actually represents Microsoft. They typically are referencing Vista and XP, which are not hardware items :P
So, he was correct in stating that it's Apple trying to kick MS in the nuts
what's that? Macs are too expensive for what you get? OSX AND Vista on one system... hrmm... two for one...
looks like my statement that i'll never get another pc again will come true after all. who needs one... lol
Mac ftw!
flaag: dont worry, with a proper case mod noone will ever know you switched. XD

So... Microsoft is getting hurt because it is now common knowlege that their OS works great on Mac hardware as well, thus opening up a larger market for them to sell to?

I'm still rather bitter that the group from make.com that was laser-etching mac laptops stopped offering the service (laser-etching) after they became known...
That aside... it would be rather amusing in about a year's time (arbitrary # there) to see what percentage of apple computers are running windows (xp or vista).

More like..
Apple: Acer, but now with 50% more shiny bevel!
(I also find these kind of 'revelations' even more amusing since apple recently dropped the "Computer" from their company name. )
Yeah honestly having the mac capable of running Vista just helps microsoft even more than before because like it was said opens up a new market for them.
I thought this was another awesome example of Apple making fun of windows. Apparently in Leopard, the symbol for a windows computer on a network is an icon of a CRT bubble monitor with a BSOD all up in its business.
At the rate in which hardware is released, the time a temporary lead is established, especially by one publication, is outdated by the time the article and commercials come out.

USA
Apple: Yes, sir, and what features of our new operating system interested you in switching?
Customer: Oh, I don't give a damn about the operating system you guys have, I just need some rockin' new hardware to run Vista!
Apple: .....?
Customer: Oh yah, and can I get mine to not have any of those stupid little 'bit-into-apple' logos too? Great, thanks!

"Apple: If we knew slapping logos on superior PC hardware would be so effective we'd have done it years ago."
"Apple: Pretend (We're) Different."
"Apple: Insulting our own hardware since 2006."
"Apple: Like Acer, only shinier."

It does fit into Apple's marketing scheme of trashing windows instead of trying to advertise their products on their own merits.
I have used OSX and really didn't like it too much, maybe that's from being used to the windows style of things.
