Heres the first thing I seriously attempted with this software. Hopefully I will be on my way to a normal mapped high res character model soon.
Still a WIP, just noodling details now. The ear and face wrinkles still don't look right to me, and the folds over the skin could use a little more depth...

As for the ears, not really sure my friend...Maybe look for some references...Elephant ears are huge, but skinny and sort of flail. They seem almost "bumpy" rather than flexible, probably because it's modelled so straight
All I got though...you are doing better than me, I really have no understanding of how Zbrush actually works. I really need to look at a tutorial
no... its clearly a duck!

can´t be a duck.. ducks have bigger ears.
..ok.. stop it.. if you take a closer look at this: http://www.xtrakt.de/newsletter/Newsletter06/Maerz06/Thema/Bilder/Elefant%202.jpg the "part where the thees came out" should be more soften.. more fluid integrated to to head.. hope you understand what me and my bad school-english are trying to tell you :P
Good first effort, dabu - once you get the details ironed out this will look sweet.

I used a ton of different ref for this, and it looked right before. I tweaked a bit, but Im ok with it being how it is.
Im really enjoying just gouging away at the surface with the scratch tool.
Ear folds still aren't working for me, but its getting closer:
I decided to upload a couple of large packs of elephant images, in case you are searching for some reference.
First up, image pack 1 (97.2 megs):

Something looks strange about the ears. I think the bumbs on the ears are not that strong, and the ears need to feel thinner. The weight also push the buttom part of the ear into its head creating lots of folds.
This should be a nice big reference.
