Hey,
Thought I might have a crack at this as it could be a bit of a laugh.
The idea I'm going with is a Commode-o Dragon (ie mix between a komodo dragon and a commode (dunny, toilet, etc)
Sorry about the state of the concept it's my first attempt at drawing using a tablet, and my first attempt at drawing anything at all in a few years.

I know it's not a hugely imaginative execution of the idea, and I'm hoping the model and texture especially aren't beyond my current skill level, but I will certainly give it a red hot...

some progress, I think I am a touch above the poly limit but I should be able to shave a few off and get under 500. still needs a lot of shape tweaking.

I think because there's so many appendages to deal with it's going to be tough to get it where you want it. what if the creature was more toilet than lizard somehow? toilets don't have poly-hogging limbs :P

You could also cover up more of the dude on the throne with a larger newspaper. Just have the hands and top of his head visible.

I think you could ditch the person on the toilet all together. This is for the animal/object hybrids, not their users.

Good point, I will kick Pantsdown to the curb and have a shot at making the animal's design a bit more interesting. I was thinking that texturing the dragon plus the man on such tiny specs would be beyond me at this stage anyway.

lol wtf :P the tail holding the pissers is a nice idea! that makes the dragon interact with the rest. the rest is kinda just sitting on top of him, so it isn't really one thing, it is just a dragon with a toilet on top of him. I like it though.

Yeah I noticed that too, I am trying to come up with some ideas to sort of tie the two together. I was thinking of maybe giving the top of his back a bathroom tile texture and working on building the sink out of the back of his head more or maybe turing his lower jaw into the sink where you wash your hands in some of that deadly and none too sanitizing komodo spit. I am also thinking of working the male toilet symbol into the texture...possibly on his flanks or forehead and hopefully it will work to merge them a bit better. thanks for the feedback Japhir

I'm admitting defeat after huge struggles trying to learn and unwrap and texture the commode-o, I have decided I am trying to squeeze too much from too little. So, I've started something different a bit closer to my skill level....

The Arachneedle! still got quite a few polys left over and the skin really isn't up to scratch so I wont enter it. But it has been a fun learning experience.

mtg_kirin: Thanks man, the main inspiration behind the two needles is that a spider bite always leaves two red spots. Also it started to look like a mosquito with just one needle...hmm that gives me an idea.

Maulor: cheers mate you dont think spraying foes with old public toilet water would make them admit defeat?

Here is the idea I mentioned - in the same vein as arachneedle - Musketo...half mosquito half musket. I really am not the best at squeezing sort of quality into these textures, this one is too muddy. I'm pretty sure my unwrapping isn't doing me any favours either. 486 tris.

awesome man, great idea ! make the texture detail a tad more sharper ( not by the filter, but the shapes itc , play with highlights more ) . Awesome really

Johny: thanks heaps, you have some fantastic stuff on your website. I've had a shot at sharpening up some areas of the texture. I wasnt 100% sure on what I was doing so I just experimented a bit. Unfortunately, Ive run out of time for this before the deadline, so this is the final.
