We just put in new wood floors yesterday, and the cats were in the bedroom...or so I thought. That night, ALL night, meows were coming from UNDER our brand new floor. The pictures in the link below show the rescue.
hehe something similar happened with our hamster once when I was young.. lost him in the 3rd story loft conversion and we couldn't get him back out.. occasionally we'd hear scritching noise through the walls and ceiling. A day or two later (on my birthday) out he pops from a hole in the ground floor kitchen. woot!
edit: btw that pic with the glowing eyes is priceless
Cool rescue Modeling_Man, I agree the photo of the eyes is FTW.
My hamster disappeared the same way as yours Rooster. Unfortunately, we didn't find him until months later - we moved an electric heater away from the wall, and there was a small charred furball with it's jaws firmly wrapped around the mains cable. Poor old Smoky... *sniff* Rather aptly named though - we must have known deep-down what fate had in store for him...

I'm glad everything turned out ok... well all except for the poor floor, put it down, take it up. I wonder what made it think that was a good spot to go hang out? Crazy cats /shrug
