Collision Models in Source

I did a quick search and didnt find anything, but just in case i apologize if this is a repost.

Im having problems creating custom collision models in the source engine, specifically for some palm trees i modeled. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a good tutorial or perhaps explain it to me. I've modeled the collision box, noted it in the qc file, but it just doesnt seem to show up.
