Thanks! The horns on that pumpkin were carved from squash. One cool thing about them was I hollowed them out, and placed them in holes in the pumpkin, so when the lights were off, they glowed as well.
Didn't have much time this year for anything fancy, but here's the 07 pumpkins. Mines on the left and my wife's is on the right
a big group of us just went pumpkin shopping and we're gonna have a little carve fest after work. I've never carved a pumpkin before, so I have really no idea a good way to go about it, and I'm going to be quite ambitious in what I make. it's gonna be very interesting to see how this turns out!
I'll get some pics up tomorrow I carved one (from a kit pattern) last night. My daughter was all over the goop.
I've always found scraping the inside down pretty thin helped quite a bit. The scoop that comes in the cheapo kit works pretty well, so do the little saws.
Vig, I was just saying the same thing! we got a couple of those cheap pumpkin carving kits and I was skeptical, but they worked really well... and the saws are good as long as the saw blades hold out heh.... my daughter was all over the goop as well haha.. what a mess....
Justin, I know man, I knew u were gonna say something, I was sooo close from doing the WAR logo, I just happened to come across that orc stencil and I thought it would be fun and challenging ( enough for me anyways :-) )
I have a couple pumpkins left, infact Im working on them as I write this ( slimy keyboard now heh ), doing a Pirates of the Burning Sea themed one for my dad ( nothing special, just silloutte ) and a spooky face one, that I found online...
Here is the crappy little stencil I made for the orc pumpkin off of a pic I saw online... simply print, tape to pumpkin, and what I do is use a sharp knife and go over the shapes , tear the paper off the carve away...
I wanna get better at this and start doing the shaving , to where it glows instead of being cut straight thru.. but any who, Happy Halloween! and I look forward to seeing some more pics on here!
Here are the other 2 pumpkins I finished just alittle bit ago...
This is the Pirates themed one I did for my dad, he loves Pirates of the Burning Sea heh, I messed up the jolly roger, so I just scraped the details and left it a siloutte, but thats ok, the whole thing is anyways right...
This is a misc scary face one I did for the house, it leans back real far, so i figured it would be good for ground level, as the kids walk to the house for halloween heh.
Here's a group shot of em all out on the patio, Happy Halloween Polycount... lookin forward to your pumpkins!
first pumpkin I ever carved. it was getting late and I ran out of time, there was so much I wanted to clean up and polish, but i'm still very happy with it:
well that's your preference. Personally, I like to live on the edge.
It's been several years since I carved a pumpkin, so I just did a generic-ish face but wanted to do the cool relief thing that's all the rage now. The horns in the second image are hollowed out carrots because I'm too stingy to go buy squashes, but it didn't work out so hot because they're not porous enough
Awesome job everyone. I had a blast doing mine. Unfortunately it took a nice beating in the trunk while I was taking it to a Halloween party. You don't see it from the picture, but there is a nice split on the back of it. I like how it turned out though. I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

I did this one the other night
Wish I hadn't gone all the way through on it but no undo buttons when carving vegetables.
Here's two pumpkins I carved the last couple years
This year I carved something way simpler though, just didn't have the time to do something complex. I'll post up a pic of the new one tonight

Politically it says one of the first pumpkins to meet the curb... =/
At least you got a photo with it
and I haven't gotten my pics off my camera yet meh...
ok, not really.
It probably started as a vagina, but the artist messed up and had to settle with making a predator head instead.
Whats the problem with mouth vagina's?
@funky Bunnies LOL
Dude, I wouldn't want to put my penis anywhere NEAR a vagina that looked like that. . .

well gosh-darnit, bless your heart, maverick loren.

it's all about regulati-- i mean job creation!
Last minute contributions, it was almost dark when we finished!
