Visiting Seattle this week

Hey polycounting peoples of Seattle,

I'll be coming over to your beautiful city this Wednesday and leaving Friday morning, so if anyone has some time and would like to meet the person behind this silly alias, please let me know. I'll have time to hang out Wednesday night (although I'm sure you folks have better things to do on Halloween than to hang out with a stranger) and Thursday afternoon/evening/night, and will be staying in a hotel downtown.

Sweet deal. I'm on the eastside across the lake from Seattle and rush hour crossing the bridges is horrible, but around 8-9 I'd be down for hangin out.

if you feel like hanging out in seattle, shoot me a message, I'm up on capitol hill. Many, many more interesting bars, pubs and restaurants than the east side (bellevue/redmond/kirkland/hell).

Haha Ferg, what are your favorite drinking spots on capitol hill? I was there last friday drinkin at the Metropolitan, the Stumbling Monk and the Chow Chow lounge under Bimbo's Burritos (great burritos as well!).

East side isn't horrible for drinking, but certainly doesn't have such a cluster of bars and restaurants so close together. Nothing beats bar hopping when you can walk down the street past a dozen or more bars in 5 minutes.

Stumbling Monk is great, also really like Bleu (GREAT food, GREAT layout inside, GREAT drinks, GREAT music... ITS ALL GREAT), those are the only ones I've visited with any regularity. I'm not a huge bar person really, prefer the mellower places with food and no blasting music. Also know a great tibetan/indian/curry/yumyum restaurant around there.

So if you guys feel like comin over to this side, there's plenty to do in terms of places to eat/drink.

Sounds like Bleu is a good place to meet then? Parking on Capitol Hill is a serious PAIN IN THE ASS though, so us East side folks should coordinate a carpool.

hehe, thats the cha cha lounge! but you were close so ill give partial credit. cha cha has always felt like a bit of a hipster bar to me though. not that i can say anything, im normally at kinkoras, lindas or the comet. im down for a meet and greet. i work with ferg so that makes all this easy for me

Brouwers in Fremont is definitely awesome. Huge amount of beers on tap that you will rarely find. Let's see how sauced Fogmann wants to get haha!

haha, that place is awesome. I live right down the street from it. They're pretty good on food as well. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up wherever though.

i totally want to carpool. me and TGZ both work at lith, so maybe we can just hop on over or whatever. i'll talk to him at work tomorrow if i see him. im always down for a good burger or something. not really much of a drinker

The Elysian brewery in Capital Hill is also a good place for superior beer. I remember liking The Golden Fleece, and a very good friend of mine made their chalk boards so I'm biased
Seattle is such a great city, I miss it.

Hey animatr, I'm about 2 minutes away from Lith at Sandblast, since TGZ doesn't drive, would you mind being the driver? With three folks we could at least make it to the bridge via the carpool lane, skipping most of the traffic. If your car is big enough we could fit fogmann in too? I'll grab your dinner bill for being the fearless driver!

I am. I'll be able to meet up about 9. Do we have a place yet? I'm up for Brouwers but that's mainly because it's the only place I know the location of. I'll be checking this when I get home about 8:45 so hopefully we'll have it figured out by then. Also...Does Fogmann have a ride to wherever we're all going?

I had great time in Seattle; loved the city and hope to get there again. Being back in Florida seems pretty depressing... and still sticky, yikes!

It was great meeting you all. Thanks ebagg for organizing the meet-up and being so kind to give me a ride. And thanks diminished, I hope I get lucky too
