Im about to buy a new monitor.
Im thinking of going for a LG 24", the LG FLATRON L245WP-BN.
Does anyone know anyone that has this monitor?
What do they say about it?
Never heard of it myself personally, but I have a cheap Samsung widescreen at home that's been pretty damn nice so far. Very nice image, there's no ghosting in games or movies when the image changes rapidly, and it even has decent image quality at non-native resolutions. Mine's just a bit small at I think 21", not sure, and it's missing some extra features found in the higher end models. But generally I've read good things about the Samsung widescreens and the one I have has been awesome so far. Mine's one of the Syncmaster series.
LG makes some fine monitors (and panels for other companies, apparently). the flatrons i have are no cheap junk and it shows. no experience with your particular model, tho.
Yeah. Some samsungs are great. but what i want is a 24 incher.
Needs me some real estate on the screen.
This one has PIP and 1:1 pixel mapping so thats cool.
if you want "real" real estate, better go with dual 21 inchers. compared to them even a 24 incher feels tiny and crammed full of palettes yet they don't make you turn your head constantly. more versatile to have two independent screens, too. not necessarily more expensive either. my 2 cents.
Well, I just picked up my second 24" Dell widescreen and I love it. Previously I had a ViewSonic 19" widescreen as my second monitor (which I thought was rad at the time of purchase) and it was the biggest piece of shit in comparison to the Dell. http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products...;l=en&s=dhs
Check the tech specs as well to see if they meet your needs.
yeah. i wanted a dell 24 incher. the price is pretty cool. but only for us residents. because the price us portuguese folks have to pay to have a dell24 is way over the top
but yeah. i decided to put down a payment for the LG one.
i will pick it up in the 30th this month.
i will post pics then.
Hey Casey, that is the Dell monitor I'm thinking about getting if I upgrade soon. I've had the 2100FP (21") for some years now and absolutely love it! Let me know how you like that particular model!
Bitmap, I'm not really familiar with the LG line from my own experience, but I do know LG is a good brand. I think it's made by General Electric so it has a reputable name behind it in my opinion.
nacire, I've owned my first one since March and its done everything I wanted from it without any issues. The screen hasn't diminished in any way (as far as I have noticed), no dead pixels, the colour is just as vivid as it always has been. I'm yet to plug my 360 into it to see how it looks.
In terms of how much I like it... Well, I picked up a second one about a week ago. So I'm quite happy with it
To me, anything over 22" is too big to sit close to because it is too much to cover with my eyes without shifting my head or eyes too much. Check dealnews.com or techbargains.com for deals on monitors and what not.

It was cheap for a 24 and it is also very good for playing.
