Warsow is looking for 3D artists

Warsow is a completely free, opensource FPS game, aimed at the competitive (esports) community. The engine of Warsow is the qfusion engine; based on the GPLed Quake2 Engine by id. Warsow has been gaining some popularity over the last couple of releases, with a big offline LAN competition recently, and active play in various online leagues (such as Clanbase and ESL). Warsow's visual style is minimalist and cartoony, in order to have a good contrast and a visible and clear style, to cater to "competitive" play. Visually it's inspirations are games like Jet Set Radio Future, using a similair celshading technique to make the models 'pop' from the backgrounds, and give a unique identity. Recently our engine has received some updates, making use of more advanced features such as bumpmapping and normalmapping. We are still looking into using these features without resorting to "plastifying" our maps, without making them too Quake4/Doom3 style. For the next release, we want to focus a bit more on the visuals of Warsow.
Besides these features which are quite new to us, we are looking for 3D artists for other tasks such as the improving of our playermodels, the addition of static meshes in maps (to keep consistency throughout the different maps and locations), and other work in refining Warsow's visual style. A big part of the job would be in helping decide in the direction we want to take the visual style. The more involved, the better.
Our project is completely based on the free-time of the team of about ~15ish people working on it actively, and everyone is working on it without any monetary renumeration. Therefore all we have to offer is a bit of e-fame, an addition to your portfolio, the chance to put your stamp on the visual style of Warsow, and perhaps a nice line in your CV.
