The first closure of a major UK-based pirate site was also accompanied by raids and an arrest, the anti-piracy group Federation Against Copyright Theft (Fact) said today.
A 26-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on Thursday in connection with offences relating to the facilitation of copyright infringement on the internet, Fact said.

Discuss! Is it illegal to link to illegal material?

BTW, I'm reporting you to FACT for posting this :P
I don't think it should be illegal honestly. Although I'm not really familiar with the UK's legal system. I mean, if there's a drug dealer, who has someone advertise for them, like tell people of his merch, I don't beleive he can be arrested, he can be taken in and questioned to inform the police of the actual drug dealer, but not really have any charges placed against him. So really what they should have done, was use the links at TV-Links, to get to the actual people who are pirating the videos. However, they probably just figured it'd be easier to just shut him down so now people will have a harder time searching for these videos. But it's not like taking him down will remove these videos from the net.
you know, the 'you havent done anything really serious but we are going to persecute you to scare others out of doing similar' routine..
I loved that site
Thanks for the lead rebb, I'll hafta track that down.
Man, that site rocked. I could find anything on there. It was one of the Good Things about the internet.
would it be the equivalent of a person who goes around high school telling everyone where to get drugs?
or would it be the guy at university who shows everyone how to use use a usb pen to store information(could be anything)?
or back in the old days the kid who could show you how to tape songs from the radio?
ah theres nothing quite like the internet is there? :P
