phothoshop issue

hi guys
i've got a very very very innoying photoshop 6 issue...
any tool i select doesn't work as it should...
for instance if i select my brush tool the cursor looks like a "pan view" hand instead of my usual brush size cirkle and it doesn't respond as it should but as if it is the pan view thingie... i can't make printscreens of it, because my cursor doesn't show up in printscreens.
so how do i make my tools work again? i want to work on my zombies!

summary: it makes me only capable of panning my view.. which really isn't that great..

did i mention this is very very very innoying?

can't solve it for you im afraid but it sounds like the behavior you get when you hold down the spacebar.

hmmz... somehow the problem solved itslef. i restarted photoshop a couple of times earlier and it didn't work, but now when i start it up it suddenly does..
well thanks anyway for looking in.
