Description
As a render artist, youll work on making sure that Free Radical shows off some of the sexiest art in the games industry. You will be involved with:
Scene composition
High-poly modelling
Lighting
Whatever you have been doing up until now, we dont care as long as you can demonstrate at least some of the following abilities:
Familiarity with 3D modelling/rendering software (Maya/Mental Ray & Turtle preferred)
Good knowledge of shader design
Traditional art theory including:
Image composition
The use of colour theory and lighting to create atmosphere
Particle systems and Dynamics
Knowledge of lighting techniques such as:
Global illumination, Ambient Occlusion, Radiosity
Additional knowledge that will help your application:
Experience of 3D game environment creation
Normal/Specular/Parallax-map generation/editing
A developed interest in photography/film making
Compositing
Experience of Photoshop
Thorough comprehension of rendering pipeline and the use of:
Subdivision modelling, Normal-mapping, Ambient-occlusion
Additional experience in complementary skill-sets such as:
Drawing, Painting, Photography, MEL-scripting etc.
