Today I went up to Squamish, BC. today with a couple of friends for a photo trip. It was awesome! I've yet to try my hand at landscape photography so that was today's purpose - experience! I think I enjoy photographing people more, but I did have a blast today.
Oh, nice!
I demand some cold weather and mountains!
(stupid Florida!)
Nice shooting, I like the compositions. Even though it's all shot in the open space, some feel a bit claustrophobic, because of the cropping, which I find quite interesting. Play more with apertures and shutter speeds, as you could get better results on some of these with some experimentation, e.g. you lost a lot of details in the bright areas, such as the water of the creek, and the clouds - they are too bright/washed out.
By the way, it would be nice if you added a break line between the photos, so they are not all connected
Interesting story about the boat.... its completely abandoned. So much so that it, 2 others, and the docks the rest on are 'forbidden' from the public. We had to sneak in to get the photos... it was awesome, scary, and definitely interesting. The little hut thing just on the right side of the boat picture had a skate park inside that's been destroyed...
jgarland: That's a cigerette.... the other 'stuff' was hidden by the magical powers of Photoshop™.
wallasaurus: Thanks
Dekard: haha.. you know, I didn't notice he was peeing when I took the photo? I just thought he was a cute dog...
notman: Thanks man!
jeremy price: Thanks man. Yah, it really does have a specific style to it, especially down by the water front. I both like and disklike that... its new to me, since being in Toronto to see this style of apartment, but every building around there looked the same. Same white's and blue's with the exception of this one orange building that looks straight ouf of Gotham City... round top, gargoyles, HUGE,...

How far is your studio from here?
I think your depth of field makes almost each of those pix postcard quality...I'm liking it a lot

IronHawk: Just under an hour
I just have to ask, though... in the first set of pictures, is that just a regular cigarette, or is your friend partaking in some BC bud?
