god I hate the dentist, but I love insurance. $1500 of pain this round and I only have to pay a fifth of it. I wish that applied to the pain as well. One root canal from hell, 2 extractions and a couple of cavities. Anyone have similar things done know how long I should expect to be eating soft shit?

I feel your pain man. I was eating the same day , but it was a little sensitive for a while.
just as i though it was over I suddenly started getting pain again. turns our my gums are shrinking, exposing nerves aggh.had to take antibiotics for that
currently i am pain free
6 hours, 4 teeth, two breaks in my jawbone. at least it was free.
I want to get stainless steel teeth. Or something that I'll never have to worry about again.
I got 5 root canals last year, and I've had 5 teeth removed this year. The pain was nowhere near as bad as when my lingual nerve got infected. Dear god, that was the worst pain I've ever felt.
1 botched root canal that later needed to be fixed, they didn't clean out all the roots, one root had a "funny" twist and they missed some nerve and pulp. After I was finished with the antibiotics it absenced and had to be repaired. Horrible pain the entire time until they finally got everything. It took 5 visits with a specialist to finally do it right. Next time they say "I think we can save the tooth" I'm pulling a "Cast Away" and doing it myself. I won't let them screw it up, then milk me and the insurance company for a new summer home.
The key to being sedated every time even for simple cleanings, is to freak out anytime something comes close to your face. It helps to shout things while you flail your arms around and knock over a tray or two.
"oh god bees in my orange juice! HORNETS ON MY FACE!?!"
Remember, do not exhale though your mouth, you don't want your Doc getting wobbly with the tiny tools. It's all fun and games until the drill goes in someones eye.
