Anyone else grab the new Radiohead album? Been through it a few times so far and really diggin it. Arpeggi is slowly climbin my list of fave RH tracks.
i read this thread. then i remembered that the album was due arround this days, so i went and downloaded it.
im listening to it as we speak. and boy oh boy. i liking it so far.
no wonder. im a radiohead fanboy
Reviews so far suggest it's very similar to their last few albums, which I wasn't a huge fan of. They have a couple of decent tracks I enjoy, but generally I find it quite boring to listen to. Decent background music I guess. I much prefer their older stuff though.
hrmm, I'd say it's more like OK Computer and the Kid A/Amnesiac Era Radiohead thrown together in a blender. It's not heavy on electronics, and strings are everywhere. Arpeggi, Reckoner, and Videotape are owning me ATM.
On first listen-through I'm impressed. It seems very lean, like they've played the hell out these songs already in concert and have worked very hard on getting a quality album cut of these songs. A studio "Nude" has been attempted roughly a billion times unsuccessfully before (a song they've played live for roughly 10 years), so it's awesome that it's finally on an album.
I'm definitely putting it back on for the rest of the work day. Short, lean, and mean is something more modern albums could stand to be.
LOVE this album! Nude is awesome, probably my favorite track.
Coldwolf: Radiohead has ditched their record label and put their new album up on their website for sale, but you name the price you want to pay for it and then download it, very cool way of doing it.
haha I just love the fact that Radiohead havent had a record label for quite some time, and this pretty much prooves that if your good enough, you dont bloody need to adhere to crappy shareholder controlled companies

So I assume everyone's heard about the new distribution system?
