haha. I love the snow. The funny thing is, I live in Florida, i'm as far away from snow as you can get in the US.
I've always wanted to live there. I hope it goes well. I am very excited. Just gotta remember my DS for the trip. Since I'm staying over night, I wonder if i could take my 360.
yeah man. the onsite is really usually just to see if the team thinks you're a cool guy they could want to work with. the ones i have had, usually i wsa asked about the things on my reel, how long it took, what my workflow was. and be honest. you dont want to shoot yourself in the foot about lying how long something took you, as then that may be what they expect out of you.
so yeah, just be a nice, cool guy, and im sure it will be good.
But getting out of Florida alone is 1 of my dreams come true. haha This place is full of suck.
I don't know what's worse, the heat, the expensive electric bills because of the heat, the cost of living in general, or the horrible traffic non stop.
........dude been here my whole life, I know the feeling.. not to mention 595 and 95 and always a accident everyday at 5pm , and not to mention gas guinepigs we are were there always testing out new prices on us.
A dream come true for me is to get out of florida to, atleast one of us escapes the florida Fail
Congrats man. I would not attempt to bring your 360 though. A)What a hassle it would be to pack/unpack then pack again.
B)Airport security would most likely confiscate it, or tell you to go home. Either way, that would suck.
Your DS is probably your best bet :-P
Just remember to play cool on yoru interview. It's usually just a formality to make sure you aren't a jerk. As long as you demonstrate your knowledge, but be humble (don't come off as arrogant) and just be friendly and chit chat, I think you'll do fine. Clearly they see the potential in you to bring you out on the interview. This is costing them money, so they mean business. So as long as you are easy to get along with, I think you will be fine.
A company that is going to bring you out for an onsite interview SHOULD pay for all expenses (possibly minus a meal you get when you aren't actually at the interview). If the company is expecting you to pay for your flight/hotel, etc. I would strongly advise not even wasting the time, as if they aren't willing to pay for that, they are not likely worth working for, and would probably offer you a horrible salary anyway. However, I've not really heard of a place that doesn't pay for that.

Just relax and play it cool, I'm sure you'll ace it. Though do prepare for it. If nothing else, it will probably keep you from getting -too- nervous
Just think of the on-site interview as another phone interview.
