I thought I'd got a bargain, picking up Stranglehold in a game re-seller for £7.99. Now I think I know why..
It runs like a dog.
Admittedly the specs are on the box for all to see, but my new dell laptop is capable of playing it surely, with the required 2 gig of ram, a fast dual core setup (2.33ghz), and a 512mb GeForce Go 7950GTX?
Not so. It runs with the same choppiness whether I'm on 640x400 or 1920x1600 screen resolution.
Hopefully there'll be a patch, but I'll probably have a 360 by then.
This is an interesting read on the subject, as is
Kotaku's take.
Anyone managing to get a decent framerate? Cuz I'm considering freeing up the 15 gig of HD space for summat' else...

I wouldn't even mind poking around in the config file if I thought there was something there I could turn down/off. 'unreal' based games have generally been very amenable to a bit of .ini hacking.
