Tablet and Paper

I recently discovered that its a lot easier to draw with a piece of paper attached to the tablet. The tablet (Intuos) surface makes my hand slightly stuck on it and i couldnt make long strokes without waves in it! It feels much better with the paper on it and i can finally use the full a5 wide area for my strokes and guess what: it feels more like drawing on paper wink.gif. A disadvantage is that the pen pressure gets harder.
I recommended a thin piece of paper and attaching it plane with adhesive tape.

I wonder what you guys think about the tablet surface?

I like the older ones more, the ones that don't have the hard, clear plastic cover. So if you have an intuous3 I understand why you'd do this, but I could never get used to it on my old wacom.

Doesn't the Intuos come with different textured tips that provide some amount of resistance like pen/paper does? I honestly don't know, I have a Graphire instead.

I personally like the surface as is, using it mainly for modeling and animation, I also like the way it handles when drawing. Granted, I don't have very sweaty hands. smile.gif

A guy in my class also does this as well though, paper taped to the surface of his tablet. I never really liked it, but it's the only way for him.

There was a thread about this on cgtalk, some people would take an old glove and cut off all the fingers except for the first part of the thumb and the entire pinky, you can even buy these gloves premade from some fancy material, forgot what they were called though but they weren't expensive, 10 bucks or so.

I used to have the problem of my hand sticking to the surface sometimes....especially in summer at home..(no AC)...So I cut of the lower half of an old long sleaved t-shirt and put a thumb hole in it...Shazam!!! Wacom glove.
