An urgent request for Character modelling help

I'm completely rusty on character art and i'm trying to build up a small portfolio to use to apply for a job at the end of next week. I need some in-game character type art tutorials really, really bad. Any help would be massively appreciated.

I'm having alot of trouble with the ref art i chose and i am about to start from scratch a 2nd time... anyone got a link to some basic male front/left concept art i can use as a base?
