Polyboost... not... working... help

I'm trying to get some basic functions down with Polyboost. I'm trying to use the Curve tool the way it's used in the documentation and the 3.0 video, but nothing happens when I press the button. Help? Thanks.

Well I figure I'm doing something wrong. I don't think I want to nag the guy working at Starbreeze quite yet.
