Maya 8.5 Bonus Tools - preserve uvs

I got all exited when I found a version of Bonus Tools for 8.5 is meant to have preserve uvs. This could save me a tonne of time, but I can't get the thing to work.. The python script doesn't even seem to be there, but some people in the Autodesk download page's user comments seem to be having some luck. Anyone here had any luck with it?

Yup a coworker installed it and it was not 'plugged' somehow. He managed to manually edit the script to make it work - but he's on holidays this week. I'll sure ask him as soon as he is back.

So yeah the tool works, it's not as convenient and integrated as Max's yet but it's a step in the right direction.

Alright I've just been told that you also need the bonustools update in order to make it work. Seems like the maya guys forgot to deliver the one bonustools file that actually enables the prevserve UV tool!

It works, but not as good as max.. doesn't allow you to extend uvs outside of a UV shell, and you have to apply the preserve uv's function again if the topology is changed. But yeah, a step in the right direction!

Yup, seems like hittting the 'preserve UVs' launcher button can mess up small UV areas in certain cases. A mate at work is running into that one problem right at the moment!
