Maya Marking Menus - Linear Menu Items

Hi all-

This is my first post up on here. Got a good one for you guys that use custom marking menus in Maya. I've got myself a pretty extensive custom marking menu, but when I go to add a linear menu item to it, I always have the worst time getting everything rearranged just how I want it. Mainly what I mean is that, when I drag something down there, it seems to always want to go to the top or the bottom of the list. Well I want it in the middle! Anyone have a good explanation for how to get something to the middle of my list without having to delete everything off and completely re-do my linear items? (I've got about 8 or so items on there, some of which are submenus, so this would be painful.)

Thanks in advance.

i'm sure there was a way to influence the order of items by dragging to the right spot, but why don't you just edit the actual (text)-file, that defines your marking menu? on windows it can normally be found in your personal folders under maya\v(ersion)\prefs\markingMenus as a *.mel

just look for the items in question and copy and paste the entire function-blocks around as you wish, should do the trick and is quite simple.

Ah ha! That's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks a bunch!
