haha thanks man, glad to see I inspired someone to do some cool stuff,
just a few things though, mainly texture sizes and seeing this guy in some other angles if possible, also you plan on doing spec / normals or anthing in that manner?
If your doing just texturing at this current level this seems very flat still and still has alot of ways to go, it needs more dinks and scratches into the metal itself, and some painted light source or another to make the metal feel less flat and more vivid (You might wanna look at horus that I made from warhammer to get what I mean more on that one)
Either case man Im glad I inspired you to do something awesome, keep up the good work man!
I think I'm going to try making a few more of these things for a game project. The texture is a 1024 map, but it's actually broken into 4 256's so parts can swap out (I have big ambitions for that game project). Some of the texturing suggestions might be because of the default lighting in that render. Check out this playblast and let me know what you think.
Thanks Vig. What was the polycount on yours? I'm still trying to decide what limit I want to use. I'm think 2k tris, but that could be tough if I ever make a warcaster.
hmmm even with the turn around I still say you can add dinks and kinks to it alot more than what your pushing, default lighting or not. It needs just a bit more OMPF to it (similar to dawn of war characters if you wanna get the idea)
