I was reffering to a confirmation email for joining the website, not the beta itself BTW. I'm not sure if you guys are talking about the same thing, strange that its not automatic if you are.

But I haven't got the email saying I've got a beta key.

Apparently if you login to the forums and make a post you should have a green star underneath your name if you were chosen to get it within the next 72 hours.

So I played it for about 30 mins earlier. I don't want to say anything conclusive yet, but I am underwhelmed so far. Then again all I played was free-for-all deathmatch.

I'm more interested to see how their single player campaign is, though. I'm not a huge multiplayer FPS fan. I enjoy it, it's just not my fav.

It's been confirmed that the green star on the COD forums means you're getting a beta key Only a matter of how slow they are dishing them out. But everyone should have them by tomorrow night, so it'll be a good weekend! muhaha

Well, I played it for a few hours and here are my impressions. The thing I noticed the most between the other COD games and this one is the pace. This one seems significantly slower. The game doesn't seem very balanced to me. In order to get all the fancy guns and what not you have to get your rank up to unlock shit (which is pretty easy). When you get 3 kills in a row you get to summon a UAV to fly over and kill tons of shit. When you get 5 kills in a row you can summon an air strike. So if you're rank 4 or 5 and the server is full of Rank 11s (which is usually the case for me) they are raping me with the guns I can't even spawn with then summon giant helicopters and air strikes to kill me.

But with that said, I couldn't stop playing for hours, and the only reason I stopped was that I got hungry

1 word - Awesome!!!! as intense as CoD2, except it looks 10x better. Is missing the ability to lean. Once you get to a certain rank, you can make your own class, choose what weapons etc. I'm very much enjoying it.

got in, I'm loving it. lv 11 already haha. took a little to get used to (I don't really like the mp5..) but after trying all the weapons I'm great with the assault type weps and perks are awesome. I fuckin rule.

bounchfx: yeah I hated the MP5 for a long time and then I realized that it is amazing but you just have to be close for it to work. Because of that I only use it on the maps that have lots of buildings and enclosed areas that have close encounters.

Yep, it's really good. Very well balanced already as far as I can tell.

The objective gametypes are great, they chose my favorite two all time team FPS games to 'borrow' from: Battlefield Conquest, and Counterstrike.

well i got mine the other day finally. been playing here and there and played yesterday with bouncefx . So far I'm really like the game and I think I may add it to my list of titles this fall. Still working on getting my rank up but I'm close to 9 already and I haven't really played much.

Hard to just hop in and play, really. You get pwned so fast from people that have 2x damage, or can shoot through walls, etc etc. Everyone has been going balls-out on the beta this weekend, so when I tried hopping in Sunday night, I got ranked up with people who were way higher, even though they were the lowest ranked at the time. That's pretty weak.

I think I'll pick it up on PC anyways.

The skill matching will work better when there is a larger player base (when the game comes out) and when the levels aren't capped at 11. Even if you're playing against somebody who's an 11 in the Beta, he might have played hundreds of games, and be more like a level 50 in skill.

yeah i just reached level 11 and yeah there are guys that would be around 30 already. I think i saw a guy with over 15,000 kills already. I don't think he has slept yet.

I don't think the levels will be the same thing as Skill level. The TrueSkill matchmaking system is based on a lot more I believe, and anyone can get a high enough level just by playing since it is based off experience points.. the only difference is that they will take longer to get there.

and shit, I forgot this was coming on PC too. I really need a new PC because all the franchises I started on the PC with it cant handle anymore! (UT, CoD, HL2, etc)

More seriously, though, it just takes a bit of getting used to. My first few matches were awful, but once I got a feel for it I was pretty competitive with rank 11s.

I wasn't really planning on picking this up but i may have changed my mind.

yeah even though i'm maxed out at level 11 right now you can still go after all the mini challenges in the barracks to unlock new addons for guns.

I'm trying to get that ACOG scope for my m249 right now
