i didnt see this up yet so im guessing im the only one with the problem thus far. when i export my lowpoly out of zbrush to tweak in max... all the UVs are seperated into triangles. and in the edit UV mode the weld selected doesnt have settings to decide on how close of verts to weld, so some parts collapse into each other.
anyone had this problem or know of a good work around for it

You can set this to a very low value, like 0.0001 or something, then select all verts and hit CTRL-W to weld with this threshold.
In order to get it down to that low of a number you might have to go into your Max grid/snap or preferences and change the "decimal accuracy" up to 4 or 5 because I think it defaults to 2, which means you can only set the weld threshold to 0.01 which is probably too high a value for this type of problem.
Sounds like my armour has too much specular.
