I'm trying to bake an occlusion map to use as a base for the texture on this (relatively) low poly model. The only problem is that I'm getting all these weird artifacts. Also, there are like 2 strands of hair that the occlusion map turns out all dark....weird. Normals are all soft, so I don't know what the deal is. Using Maya 8 Any ideas?
and how about a wire...

a little bit of progress has been made with the texture, but still a long ways to go with it.
I like the shape of his head
How about adding some texture variation to his face?
I am very impressed
need to go in and sharpen up where separate objects meet in the diffuse; the belt/shirt, jacket/shirt, etc.
I like the shape of his head. the lines denoting the pouches of skin beneath the corners of his mouth shouldn't go all the way up to the lips in a straight line like that. eyes definitely need color, they get lost in the face. skin in general needs some color variations. he looks like he just stepped off a black and white movie screen.
fix the back of the collar where the uv is mirrored, should be a smooth line, not a W
Who knows
zenarion: Thanks alot! Trying to make the texture more interesting as you suggested.
sectaurs: Thank you for the in depth crit. I agree with all your points and have implemented or will take them all into account before this thing's finished.
jimmies: lol
soulstice: Thanks!
