The ape has ape like proportions which makes it look real cool, the croc has weird human proportions but with a creepy croc head. i think you should make it more croc like short arms and legs, elongated torso and longer tail, and a much larger head and mouth in relation to the bodyi scribbled this out as an idea of what i'm thinking,
well its important to rember when doing cartoons to exagerate the unique features of the character. your gorrila is ok, cause gorrilas have long arms, and short legs, also the feet are obviously gorrila. i think making the legs a bit more bowlegged, and the body hunched over with knuckles dragging would help a lot.. but that could be done in rigging. also maybe add in the dome like cranium that gorillas are known to have
but over all the gorilla you did has several gorilla like features that makes it clear.
the croc tho the only features you had was the big mouth and tail (and the tail was tiny) make a list of things you think of when you think of a crocodile, and try and make those exagerated when you cartoon it.
you said you had to do an elephant next.. things on elephant that stand out to me
Large trunk
big ears
flat round feet and hands
small tail with a tuft of hair on the end.
giant bulbous forehead.
maybe tusks
large heavy body.
now when you draw try and touch on all those features.
my croc is a lot more cartoonified than your current pieces. thats just my style, you may not want the big circle eyes, and simplified hands and feet. but the same principles should apply.
Oh yeah...the crocodile is coming along nicely. Much better now with the more animal proportions. Crocodiles have short little stumpy limbs. Your current iteration is looking much more like the animal that it's based off of. Now you probably just need to work on pumping some personality into him. (not easy with those beady little croc eyes)
crocodile before the last one is your best croc, the latest just seems a bit, odd. something is lost in the refinement, the front view head is off.. more t rex like i think. also the taper of the body from chest to hips is a bit drastic. i would keep plugin out ideas, don't be scared to drasticly alter your design between atempts till you get something that shines
Great improvement on the croc. The first concept was a bit creepy actually, since it had more or less realistic human proportions, and an animal head just slapped onto it.
Remember! Big eyes = good guys. Small eyes = bad guys.
croc model seems better than any of the croc concepts, still not perfect. but vast improvements,
i've never firmly believe in the big eye small eye theory, tho i do think large eyes on bad guys need to be acompanied by floaty sharp eyebrows.i think crocks design would benifiet by the nose holes not being on one big nose mass, but 2 individual lumps on each side of the snout

will do the elephant tonight after work.
oh and switchblades add +10 bad points

Hands and feet need fixing.
