i have been having this problem lately with wireframe views on 3ds max when i press F4 , this is getting really annoying since it tens to make the wireframe eligible, it even happens on lowpoly models, this started to happen with no reason one day :S

If that doesn't work, what Fritz described could likely be the problem. Good luck.
Shaded wireframe mode internally makes a live copy of your mesh and pushes it out a tiny amount.
If the scene is too huge or too small, precision gets wacky. Try using the Rescale World Units utility (don't use it if your model is rigged though), see if it goes away.
Must be said though, there are many great artists/helpers here on polycount. The consistently high quality of knowledge shared around here keeps me coming back.
