...of mine.
I've started my next home project and its one that I will probably hold to myself a lot closer than the others. Growing up I was a huge fan of action-adventure games, primarily of the LucasArt's sort. One of my all time favourite games, is Full Throttle.
I thought it'd be fun to picture Ben (main character) and where he is now, some 14 years after the story/adventure took place.
My back story for this piece is that Ben left the Polecats a long time ago and is now a washed-up biker who hardly rides any more. He prefers to keep to himself, spying on the wide world from the confines of his secluded residence, somewhere off Highway 9.
Those who were fans of the game, much like I am, should see a lot of subtle 'nods' to the game in this piece when I'm finished.
My references come from

nice work by the way. does the plane need so many faces though?
i actually meant ground plane. but now that u mention it, maybe i'll look smarter if i say "yeah the corrugated metal plane".
It really reminds me of Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, in the first age. It gives a sort of mysterious feel, and I like that.
Keep it up. I know you won't disappoint.
lol yeah, i shoulda' been more specific when i said plane.

Oooh, haha.. yah thats just there for my own point of reference. It'll be more realized towards the end.
and the model looks cool, too
Give 'em hell, Polecat!
MAKE IT SEXEH !!!
thats one mean trailer you got going on
hope to see further updates
I've been really wanting to play the game but I can't get the sound to work in XP!
Looking forward to your updates, so far it looks great.
Until then...
I also agree about the short ladder not looking right. A step ladder or some cinder blocks would fit better I think.
-caseyjones
A note about the steps/ladder: My plan is to do remains of the old step ladder. What you see there now is a jerry-rigged plastic pool ladder sealed to the siding. Thats why they're dipped and bent, I picture him being a lard-ass 'these days' and his weight has brought some stress to the poor plastic steps!
I'll let those who're fans of the original game point out the couple of items from it that I've thrown in to this piece. I'm planning on including a few obvious elements from the original title in this piece, but this is all I managed to throw in there.
And thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm glad there's a fan base out there for this game. As I said its one of my all time favourites so I really want to push for story telling in this piece. I hope you guys enjoy it!
I like the low angle shot you have above.
Coming together damn nicely :]
Just needed to say something, the second image? You can see a bit of the base from the sign going through the cloth over the bike, but other than that it looks awesome man.
love those corrugated metal plates and the wood beams and hangin sign. totally sweet work.
damn i love wood structures. totally awesome!
btw those mountains look like big ass turds. lol

You should get it. Most of the old adventure games have yet to be surpassed, and are definitely worth playing today. Good storyline, characters and tons of style doesnt age with time.
@AdamBrome - REALLY looking forward.
I literally hit about the 2.5 hour mark and called it a night. The chrome is one thing I will be paying special attention to, but please consider all aspects of it to be WIP (if you can't tell! haha..)

There WAS supposed to be a secong game, in 3D as well. LucasArts was working on it the same time as the new Sam & Max 3D game (similar art style, too)-- but when they got rid of Sam & Max, they completely dumped Full Throttle 2. It was a shame. You might be able to find a couple pics of it on the net somewhere though.
Anyway, Adam, this scene is looking pretty cool. I noticed the bike is missing in your latest pic-- I hope it's just hidden, I'd hate to see it removed altogether!
Keep it up! Can't wait to see it finished.
Im lookin forward to seeing how you paint the ground. Stylized dirt is hard for me.
With that said, I'm happy with how it turned out. The colours, lighting, and composition came out as planned. The texturing and style are things I'll be working on more in the coming weeks - which is why I am calling this done. I need to move on to some other things.
Thanks for the kind words guys, this project was a shit ton of fun!
*UPDATED PICS ON SECOND PAGE**
awesome work, Adam.
