EDIT: I just uninstalled, deleted the old directories to remove bad plug-ins, config files and reinstalled. Back to normal.
ok don't know how this happened but i went to apply a material to something that i'm working on and i go to set it up for dx display in max and it's not an option anymore. Hell it's not even there any more.
Anyone run into this? How did you fix it?
I have directx 9 as my default viewport renderer.
Please help asap. Thanks guys.

also not sure for dx, but in opengl when windows is set to 16 bit, hardware acceleration is disabled for most top cards, as they require to run at 24/32 bit.
still no dice.
this is what things look like.
and this is what it should look like.
suppose this would be the same as reverting.
obvious one, but delete the 3dsmax.ini file and restart.
