What the?! Mainframe sold the rights to the Reboot franchise? Does this mean that they are never going to finish the storyline that was in production? The last story arc ended on an enormous cliffhanger. Will this re-imagining of the series mean that they aren't going to finish where they left off?
Ahhhhh...that explains alot. This could be a change for the best. Mainframe had really sold out in recent years. They had started to focus almost exclusively on liscenced material, abandoning some of their best original works. I loved the Reboot series.
Hopefully, this change in management will also allow us to see a proper Reboot DVD release.
Man, this may have been the first 3d animated TV show I ever saw.
The open public forum approach they're taking with the redesign is very interesting, it will be worth keeping an eye on and checking out peoples submissions.
I loved this series back when I was at school, I had no idea about 3D at all back then so this looked amazing. when I see it now though it makes me laugh
Can't say I remember it all that well. I wasn't aware it ever appeared on free to air. I remember watching a few episodes on Pay TV at a mates place and enjoying them.
I just had a look at a few clips on Youtube. It seems to suffer from not really being aimed at a particular demographic. Much of the humour and character designs are apropriate for a very young audience, but the overall theme and often quite obscure references to games, computers and programming seem to be aimed at a much older audience. After watching that, I'm interested to see how a modern version of the show would work out, what with the significant evolution of the computer, game and internet since Reboot first appeared and along with it a significant move forwards in 3d graphic software. With some more mature writing and character design it could make for a really good movie.
