Their recruiter contacted me through an email, saying my portfolio caught their attention, they really liked it and all, and I said I wasn't looking for a job at the moment, but he insisted I leave my private phone number so that their Sr. manager can call me for an informal chat about opportunities... and when I finally did leave my cell number, the recruiter thanked me kindly and said manager will call me soon, but that never happened. Go figure...
The fact that they don't have any actual client's names or actual job postings listed doesn't look too good either. The only recruiters I've ever been in contact with (ie FILTER, Sakson&Taylor) have actual companies names they can list and job postings you can look through. But again, congrats on getting your recruiter pubes.
Thats funny, I got my first recruiter call yesterday... maybe it was adventure. I basically told them I wasn't interested right now. The guy was nice and just wished me a good day, didn't bug me after I declined.
Lol recruiter pubes? that means i got mine last year XD. but it came from gamerecruiter.com looked legit to me...but i didnt have proper papers for US work.
I got contacted from gamerecruiter.com, really nice to deal with and I'm just waiting for offers (no mid-level char artist jobs were open). Something looks spammy about the Adventure Recruitment guys, though. And I would expect a phone call from a recruiter, not an email. But regardless, its free for you to try out.
I've been contacted by two recruiters both via phone calls and had two very different interactions. The first was a really great guy and offered me work on some nice 360 titles. It was contract and I was already in the industry and very happy where I was. We chatted on the phone for about 20min about games, the state of the industry and babies. Having kids himself he understood the need for benies and stability. I kept in touch with him for a few months and I would contact him in a heart beat if I was looking for work.
The other recruiter left me a semi rude VM to let me know I had missed the appointment they had set up. This was the first news I had heard of any such meeting. They had sent me an email that went right to junk mail. (It might have been from these guys now that I think of it) The email said something like "someone pass us your portfolio if you are interested in contract work show up on this day at this time". I don't think I did anything but clear out my junk mail folder and delete the VM.
Just to echo Mr. Jukes here: also had a phone chat with a rep from Adventure Recruitment today (about four months after being initially contacted by another rep via email, as I mentioned earlier) and my impressions are positive, but I also must agree that their website is horrible.
A coupe of ex rockstar vienna guys, including me got a phone call from then or have been contacted otherwise. Here is what one of the higher guys at r*v guy told us if it is of any help:
"Adventure Recruitment was founded by former Networking People coowner? Joseph Cairns.
Joseph brought some guys to Vienna back in the old days. Absolutely trustworthy if anyone is interested in their services. "
Hey I got the call from these guys tonight and an email as well. Seems to be some mixed feelings on the board about them. I'll see what they say tomorrow when they call me back.

Except I should add ones from actual companies!
The 2 year old prototype PS3 shot doesn't help, either.
