This incident should have been completely resolved within the school between the parents and school administrators. A detention and a letter of apology would have been perfectly enough punishment for the kids. Instead they are pulled out of school for weeks and threatened with jail time.

Now, I'm sure it isn't THAT bad (rape wise), but they definitely deserve some sort of punishment. Arresting them I think was overboard. They should only have had the police there to scare them and help understand the severity, then just suspend them for a bit.
I honestly hope they aren't convicted, even with a 'time served' sentence. If they are, they'll be placed on a sex offenders list and have this on a permanent record. Seems a bit extreme to me.
I wonder what its going to take to get this type of shit to stop happening (the over-reactions of schools/parents/police/judicial sytem). I mean, how fucked up does something have to be to really freak out the public...

Personally, I have two daughters, and one is the same age as these kids. I'm basing my thoughts on how I would feel if she came home telling me these things happened to her. If even half of those testimonies are true, I'd still feel a suspension was in order.

If a girl is in emotional distress over something like that, then she has other psychological problems as well. Kids have always played around like so, and next their going to say that we can't teach our kids to ride a bicycle without a trained professional because its too dangerous.

The girls didn't care, they didn't report the behaviour, they didn't complain, they said this behaviour wasn't even unusual (and anyone here who remembers their early teens can attest that it has never been usual). A female aide/adult hall monitor (imagine her as a retired miserable old lady) grabbed the boys and reported it. There is absolutely no reason they should be punished at all, at worst a day of detention. The girls, the victims, didn't complain, they didn't care, its absolutely absurd for this miserable old cunt to take it upon herself to decide that the girls shouldn't be treated that way, and just as absurd that the principal and officer who interrogated the young girls tricked certain responses them to pursue this when it was harmless fun that I'm sure these disgusting and hypocritical individuals engaged in themselves when they were younger.
If the girls complained to the principal or teacher, suspend them maybe. If the boys had a record of this, and had been suspended before, and they were doing the things the cop and principal tricked out of the girl constantly, call the police and scare the shit out of them. But christ, this is normal behaviour to be engaging in, it was absolutely harmless, except in the mind of this old cunt hall aide with the dry cooch, and the principal and cop and I have no idea what they were thinking.
This District Attorney should resign in disgrace and the principal and officers should publicly apologize; I don't know what part the girl's parents played in this but I don't think it is a large one (from what I can tell they did not want to pursue this or press charges or anything). If I were that boy's mother I wouldn't stop until the DA apologized after this case is dropped (the victim is saying that nothing unusual or forciful happened and she didn't mind the behaviour).
