TimeGate Studios: Now Hiring Sr. Software Engineer
TimeGate Studios, developer of the award-winning F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and Kohan series, is looking for a talented and driven Sr. Software Engineers to work on its current line of next-generation products for major publishers. Projects in development include the Unreal Engine 3-powered Section 8, a team-based first-person shooter where elite powered-armor infantry wage war on epic sci-fi battelfields.
The Senior Software Engineer works closely with the Lead Software Engineer and the rest of the development team to design and program multiple requirements for upcoming titles.
Responsibilities:
* Management and scheduling of the programming team.
* Architect, program, and debug high quality products with efficient and reusable code.
* Design, develop and extend game engine on a next generation console: game play, graphics, AI, networking, audio, etc.
* Enforce good software practices.
* Account for risk factors and plan for risk mitigation.
* Ensure good communication with other departments, and provide status reports to management.
* Maintain useful documentation for programmers and the rest of the team.
Requirements:
* At least six years of experience in C++ programming.
* Must have at least one project completed as a senior programmer.
* Experience with assembly level programming.
* Experience designing and implementation complex data-driven systems.
* Management experience.
* Must have excellent object-oriented design and analysis skills.
* Must have excellent communication and documentation
skills.
Preferences:
* Console development experience (PS2, PS3, XBox, XBox 360).
* Previous work with a licensed 3D engine (Unreal, LithTech, ...)
* Windows XP/Vista development experience.
* Gameplay, Graphics, Physics, Audio, Networking, UI, AI, Tools Programming.
* Experience designing, implementing, debugging, and optimizing 3D graphics engines.
* Strong Math background.
* Experience playing a variety of games (particularly FPS).
* Positive and motivated team player.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.), or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related degree.
