I dunno aesir, I read another article awhile back when they were testing that monkey with the robot arm--at first it was extremely hard, but gradually they discovered that the monkey's brain was developing adeptness with the tool, like a muscle would grow.
I can't remember if this is right or not, but I THOUGHT I read that the monkey even learned to differentiate between signals that moved the object and the signals that the 'object moving' was initially listening in on.
...meaning if moving a robot arm was tied to the 'moving your own arm' signal, the brain was learning how to move each independently--basically splitting the signal and refining each.
I think this would be excellent for helping people learn to concentrate. I really see this as a way to improve overall mental function. It will give people the tools they need to control their own minds, and then apply it to the external and internal world.
