I got inspired after watching some halo beta videos, so I made this armored pilot guy. I'm using paint overs to get through the design, which is helping alot.
It's been collecting dust so I figure I would get some feedback. Modeling in Silo 2, right now my goal is just to get the modeling/sculpting part done.
If he's an entire man under the armour, and not some cyborgy thing, his eye holes look to be set too high and are probably a bit on the small side (you certainly wouldn't want your vision restricted while operating a military aircraft. The armour around the stomach area doesn't look as though it'd fit around a human torso.
I really suggest that until you get a better understanding of the human form that you start by making a human mesh without all the gear, then adding all of it onto him. It seems to me you a losing a lot of the under lying structure that would make this piece believable.
Rhinokey, good point, i'm going towards that direction. TBH I haven't looked at an ounce of human ref as of yet, i'm just fucking around, but maybe i should be more serious about it.
I really like the general look and feel of this, I think you are doing pretty good. The part above the abdomen that's sticking out a bit looks a bit unnatural to me, doesn't seem quite right.

Progress is slow on him:
