if by holodeck you mean looking at a tv screen then yes. Seen this demo a couple years ago I believe but this one went a little more indepth, could'nt understand the french tho..
but it would be cool if the image was projected into a vr headset.. imagine games of laser tag where people are firing rockets and railguns and carrying huge guns..
Exactly Rooster, I can imagine this tech being used in a headset or glasses. You could have a camera on the glasses matched to your eye line and a transparent screen of some sort infront of your eyes. All this info would go back wirelessly to your Wii2.0 Walk around your house or world and have images and games superimposed on what you see. Monsters, trees, and colapsing walls all in your own home. Blast things with your gun which you can see in your hand.
If the level of detail was good it could be a whole level of imersion beyond what we have seen. What VR should have been.
rooster, from what they say in the video, when they show the car thing, they are already using glasses with a little camera and screen to train car engeeners on virtual machines

but still that is really neat
Just imagine using glasses as a monitor/camera and using it to add new elements into your ordinary boring world!
real life quake!
