Always cool to mess with new apps. I've already spotted some things I hate (such as ONLY being able to scale a window from the lower right corner). But overall it's been slick so far.
... Yea, I don't get why this would matter. I don't know anyone (including mac lovers) who actually use Safari. People who use macs so far as I can tell use Firefox.
can you guys tell me if it smooths fonts and rescaled images? It does on the mac, this is one of the nicest graphical features. My blog contains rescaled images, they look whack on winxp.
Also I find Safari has better control of webstandards. Anyone interested in CSS3, check this out! (in safari of course)
Where are my back buttons?! That's a big deal when using a windows mouse.
It also doesn't work with my taskbar autohide Safari stays on top always. That and I wasn't able to save an image to my harddrive yesterday.
Overall it would be a nice alternative, but it needs a lot more work before it can leave beta.
Read somewhere that Apple releasing safari on windows was also a move to pull in 3rd party developers for the iPhone, since development for it is done through safari. Doesn't hurt to try to increase your share of the browser pie outside of mac users too though.
Camino and Firefox on the mac for me. I never did like Safari much. Don't really want it on my PC. Safari always seemed a bit incomplete to me, like it was missing features put in most browsers around 1997. Can't think of any specifics off the top of my head, but I do remember that annoying me enough to not use it.

I'll try it though.

Basically, CSS3 is a reality in Safari.
I have it installed at work, so I can check your images when I get in tomorrow.

Safari is weak though. Severely. Even for a beta release, it's pretty damn limp. Firefox's initial beta was far superior in every way possible.

The images rescaled smoothly in Safari, yes. The orange/brown vector image in particular, was very smooth in Safari, yet chunky in Firefox.

NO THANKS!! I'll stick with firefox and internet explorer.
the iPhone doesn't have an open SDK though. I doubt anything real innovative will come from anyone but Apple.

all 3rd party apps are written in safari, no need for an sdk
