I agree. Looks way too pointy and clumped. Could have used some more shape and dynamic. But I guess if it has some in-game sway it probably won't look all that bad.

maybe they are a silk blend and thats why they are shiny.

Maybe they were soaked in some sort of reflective material to help identify themselves among each other during battle.
