Dunno if any of you have seen this yet, but a guy in England tried to help stop an armed robbery of a couple security guards and took a bullet in the process. Amazing story, this guy deserves huge amounts of respect.
He also happens to be both a gamer and a heavy metal fan. Nice to see the news reporting on a story related to those that doesn't involve the fan on the other side of the gun.
The way I see it the consequences would have been worse if he hadn't done anything. True, there is a chance of being maimed or killed if you do something, but if you do nothing you are guaranteed of having to live with the fact that you are a complete pussy.
And who knows, maybe he saved the lives of two people.
I've been in the same situation before, in fact more than once.
As some of the #m_d people know, a couple months ago I was nearly shot during an armed robbery, AND in that same week I intervened when I saw a hobo stabbing another hobo in the face. (As an aside, when I was walking home that night, covered in hobo blood, I somehow decided that I want to illustrate childrens books...)
Call me nosey and intrusive, but I just can't stand around and watch things like that happen. Maybe I'm secretly trying to even out my karma for all the stupid things I did as a teenager.

And play more video games.
I bet the guys who shot him listen to their metal way louder.

Hahaha oh man that was awesome.
Great dude though, more people need to stand up to the scumbags with guns.
